School Board Calls Special Meeting
Following the resignation of Supt. Lynn Moody this past Monday, the Rock Hill School Board has scheduled a called meeting for 10:00 tomorrow morning, August 30, in the district office.

Fundraiser for Rock Hill Student
Isabel (Izzy) Jurado, a student at Mt. Holly Elementary, has Sanfilippo Syndrome, an inherited progressive and terminal metabolic disease. A fundraiser in her honor will be held on Sat., Sept. 21, from 9:00-noon at The Cotton Factory in downtown Rock Hill (300 Chatham Avenue). 
 
Legal Lessons
York Technical College will offer “Legal Lessons: A Series for the Public,” beginning Sept. 12 through Oct. 24. Members of the S.C. Bar will teach about legal issues affecting individuals and families. The cost of the course, which includes materials, is $45. Last Call for EDCAMP SC
S.C.’s first “unconference” will be held from 9:00-3:00 at Sullivan Middle School on Sat., Sept. 7. Almost 300 people are coming, but one can still register by going to http://edcampsc.edublogs.org and looking for the eventbrite logo. Quality of Life Event
The Rock Hill Economic Development Board will sponsor a “Quality of Life” event at 4 pm Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the Baxter Hood Center on Anderson Road. Speakers will talk about the opportunities that now exist in Rock Hill, but there is great interest in hearing from the audience as to where “gaps” exist. There is no charge and no registration.
