High School Graduations to be Carried "Live"
Area high school graduation ceremonies will be shown "live" on CN2Xtra (channel 103) this year. The schedule will be as follows:
     June 1
     York, 10 a.m.; Fort Mill, 3 p.m.; Nation Ford, 7 p.m.
     June 2
     Northwestern, 10 a.m.; South Pointe, 2 p.m.; Rock Hill High, 6 p.m.
Comporium will replay a graduation ceremony each day starting at 3:30 p.m. on CN2Xtra beginning Monday, June 4, through the month of June. The schedule for all airings will be listed on CN2.com.
 
Congratulations to . . .
Richmond Drive Elementary which received a beautiful Japanese maple tree in honor of Arbor Day. The gift was from the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Eta Alpha Omega Chapter of Rock Hill. Students on the Recycling Committee helped to plant the tree.
York County School Districts which raised $40,000 for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library through the annual Bowl-a-Thon on May 19. The following Rock Hill Elementary schools participated in the fundraiser: Ebinport, India Hook, Lesslie, Mount Holly, Northside, Oakdale, Old Pointe, Richmond DriveRosewood, Sunset Park and York Road. Hats off to Cindy Hunt, coordinator of ParentSmart, who coordinated the event for Rock Hill Schools.
the students and staff at Saluda Trail Middle School which raised over $1,326 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on May 16.
Northside Elem. School of the Arts which recently raised  $2,595 to fund research to fight children's cancer through the "Kick It" event.
 
Training for Babysitting
The American Red Cross will provide "Babysitter Training" during the summer months. Students who successfully complete the one-day training will earn a Babysitter's Training Certificate. For information or to register, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit redcross.org/takeaclass.
 
Medical Clinic Services

Information on the services that will be provided at the Medical Clinic in the district's Family Resource Center this summer. Many students whose families do not have insurance may need medical care and/or sports physicals, and these services are provided in Rock Hill.
 





Summer Camp
Northwestern will hold a basketball camp July 9-12 for girls ages 7-12. The camp will be held in the evenings from 6:00-8:00.
