Northwestern High School Tennis Program To Recognize Bartelmo Family This Friday

From February of 2001-May of 2009, Northwestern High School was blessed with one of the most talented brother-sister combinations to ever play tennis at Northwestern High School.

Andrew Bartelmo completed his high school career in 2006 after playing #1 & #2 during his 6 year career where he piled up many individual and team accolades.  He went on to play college tennis at Vincennes College in Indiana and was a top 100 NJCAA ranked player before transferring to UNC Greensboro.

Sally Bartelmo's decorated high school career was cut short by a year due to an unfortunate ACL knee injury that didn't allow her to participate her senior year in 2009.  She has battled over the past year to overcome that injury and walked onto the tennis team at South Carolina where she will enter her second season and compete for a starting spot on a team consistently ranked in the top-25 of the NCAA.

Many of our upperclassmen & recent alumni  wanted to honor them before their memory became too distant.  Therefore, on Friday, August 13, 2010, Andrew & Sally will join the girls team at 10:00am at the Northwestern courts..

10:00 - Andrew & Sally will run drills with the girls
10:30 - Ceremony on court #1 to hang a sign in their honor
10:45 - Andrew/Sally vs. Seth/Hunter in a doubles exhibition

All tennis players & families are invited to come out for a tribute to these two outstanding young Northwestern alumni and to watch some  quality tennis.
